Literacy To begin Term 2, we have continued our focus in Literacy on Language Conventions to enhance skills in spelling, grammar and the use of punctuation. This week the students also reviewed the different writing genres and began their own piece of writing. With each writing piece they develop the students will be actively researching
Today marked the beginning of what is expected to be an exciting 8 weeks. Led by instructor Kofi, together we experimented with some of the local African instruments such as a caxixi and djembe. Over the coming weeks, the Preps’ will build on their skills in the lead up to a performance towards the end of term.
We’ve almost come to the end of a fantastic first week back. The students have enthusiastically participated in workshops, provocations and target groups, with a focus on our big idea of Systems. “On your marks, get set, GO!” What a fantastic day for our Cross Country Event at Princes Park! All students had a wonderful time and ran extremely well. Thank you to all of the parents and community helpers that cheered on the students and made our Cross Country Event a great success.
Readers’ Notebooks are required to come to school every Thursday. During independent reading time each Thursday, teachers will be reading with the students who have brought in their folder.
