The children had a writing workshop today. We started off discussing the the purpose of reflection writing.  They are reflecting on they achieved during learning agreement time and communicating it to the teacher. They participated in a modelled writing experience of  ‘Today I….’. Key points we discussed were the placement of the writing on the page,

The ‘Prep Neighbourhood posties’ received mail today. The envelope they were given is for your school photo order and payment. Photos will be taken from the 1st to the 4th of March.  Envelopes are to be handed to your child’s home group teacher. Many thanks.  

As part of Internet Safety Week we have been discussing ways of being cyber-safe. Some of the issues discussed include maintaining privacy online and password safety. A very useful resource can be found at http://global2.vic.edu.au/tips-and-tricks/ The 5/6 Team

Numeracy This week students in the 5/6 neighbourhood signed up to numerical acumen. Numerical acumen is an excellent resource for developing numerical thinking strategies. There are a wide range of topics around addition, multiplication and fractions. We have all entered the Numerical Acumen Semester 1 Challenge, which will allow us to compete for (virtual) medals
