Literacy Our focus in literacy this week was the language choices made by an author and how they are used to influence and persuade the reader. The students’ responses took the form of an email. Prior to writing their emails the students reviewed the features of an email and how to structure their response. The 5/6
We will be participating in this at a date to be determined, probably in late term 1 or in term 2. The students will practise skipping and fund raise prior to our “Jump off” day. They will be either learning to skip/improve/learn some tricks! It should be a lot of fun and extremely healthy too!

Chess champion visits PHPS Every Friday this year we have run the 5/6 chess club. Today, to celebrate a great year of playing chess we held a special event. Ari Dale, the current Australian under 18 chess champion (and Jeff’s nephew) came to PHPS and took on all comers in a spectacular simultaneous chess demonstration.
