Last week, each home group revisited the experience of our excursion to 100 story building and participated in a shared recount writing.
Green group:
On Thursday the 27th of October, Green group went to the 100 Story Building. We went to Footscray (right near Lora’s house. When we arrived we met Susie and Ben. Ben told us about a magic carpet, but they didn’t know how to control it. Then we saw a trap door. It was covered in plants. If you touched the leaves, you would grow a beard. There were lots of signs near the door – It was the entrance to the 99 stories below us! We read the notice board with notes people from other levels had left. Jeannie went inside a time machine! She laughed and laughed and laughed! Then we saw some things from lost property. Ben drew a monster named Slimey Spiker. We thought the spoon case belonged to him. Then we made scrolls with rules for all of the levels. At the end, we went in a secret room. It had books and pillows and the room was topsy turvey! The carpet was on the wall. The gravity made Lucas’ arm get stuck sideways!
Blue group:
On Monday the 31st of October, Blue group went to the 100 story building. We discovered a door to the other 99 levels. We saw a box under some pillows. There was a trap door with poison ivy plants around it. One of the levels below had polar bears. They were pregnant and the polar planted plants for the babies to climb on. We made signs to stop people going down there. Brendan touched the plants and he went bald in the middle of his head and Simon got a beard! When we came in there was a notice board with warnings and messages from other levels. When we went in the secret room, there was a secret door through a book shelf.
Red group:
Red group went on a excursion to the 100 Story Building in Footscray. We went on a bus trip and walk some of the way. We tried to make a magic carpet fly by saying some magic words but nothing happened. Then Ben showed us a trap door, covered in poisonous leaves. There were signs to want us not to go in. Arabella and Rafferty went in a time machine. It took them 10 seconds into the future. they laughed a lot. After that, we sat in the magic carpet and Ben showed us a notice board with messages from different levels. They were clues to help us figure out what was on the levels. We saw lost property from the different levels. There was a flute case. We created a character called Johnothan Brown Beard Jello-beard. He lived on level 91. His boat sailed on lava. He cooked chocolate lollies and muffins. Then we went in a room that was topsy turvey. The carpet was on the walls. We went inside though a bookshelf. Ben’s hand got stuck out to the side because of the gravity.
