Thanks to all those who came to our assembly today, and congratulations to all the prep students on their first performance at the primary school. You should all be very proud! Here is the video we showed at the assembly about our inquiry into Our Talents.

The Prep assembly has been moved forward a week due to World Poetry Day. Time: 3.00 Where: Gymnasium We will be celebrating the children’s learning from Term 1 and singing a couple of songs. Hope to see you there.

The big books read over the past 3 weeks have been Smarty Pants, The Hungry Giant and The Big Toe.  Enjoy listening to the stories with your child and perhaps they can have a go at reading it to you. If you like, you can put it onto mute and press pause on each page to give them

We were scheduled to take the prep group photo today, but as it was too hot, we will be taking the prep group photo tomorrow. The individual photos will be taken this week too. Please ensure that the photo envelopes come back by 31st of March.

During weeks 6 prep students have had several maths experiences. These will continue on in week 7. Numeracy recognition and writing – The preps have been practicing their numbers up to 10 in their maths books. Some numbers, such as 8, are trickier than others. If your child rides a scooter or bike to school, it must be locked up in the school bike storage area which is situated near the Macilwraithe Street gate and fence line. Many thanks for your cooperation.

Every Monday, the Preps write a recount of their weekend. On Fridays they write a reflection about something they did during the day. As early writers, they are encouraged to copy simple sentence starters (‘Today I’ and ‘On the weekend’) and they complete their piece by illustrating their ideas. With support their sentence is completed
