Last week, the preps took part in a series of workshops where they explored Eric Carle. First, we began by reading through various texts such as “Slowly, slowly said the sloth”, “The secret birthday message” and many more. As we read through each story we discussed the reoccurring style of Carle and how he became well known through his simple yet creative vision. From there, the preps were asked to write a sentence about the animal they’ve been researching.
Following on, we had a go at designing our very own Eric Carle paper much like the ones found in his stories.
Once the paper was dry and ready, the preps returned created their own collage design using the paper they had created. Here are sample of some of the wonderful creations!
Stay tuned for a display in the Art Studio featuring more designs from our wonderful preps!
