On Tuesday, the Preps listened to the story ‘We’re off to Thunder Mountain.’
What we found out while reading the book:
- It is a counting book! It has a growing pattern, with each new page the amount of creatures increases by 1.
- The characters in the story are all types of ‘spooky creatures’
- It describes the characters. Eg – ‘Six fuzzy gremlins’
- The setting created interest in the story and is where we would expect these characters to be.
The setting is the place that the story is told. We went through the story again, listing all the different settings that we saw. We then ventured out to different areas of the yard to look for settings in our school.
