This term our inquiry into the history of musical instruments had led to many interesting places. We have been exploring historical music makers through videos and then Deb brought in a number of fascinating objects that create art through sounds and vibrations.
This week Deb showed us how the vibrations create patterns of sand on the metal plates and we use our scientific thinking to hypotheses and observe what happened throughout the experience. We then had the opportunity to test out the different objects, feeling the sound through our sense of touch!
We love learning through many forms and this inquiry has allowed the 3/4’s to use both their creative and scientific thinking to deepen their understanding of sound. Over the next two weeks we have our music incursion with will deepen this inquiry even further as we get musicians in to share their skill with us.
