Term 4, Week 3 Learning Focus

Hello!

This term we are provoking the children’s thinking by presenting a different story about the environment.  Many of our discussions have focused on questions such as “I wonder why people want so much palm oil?” and “Who is responsible for all the rubbish in the ocean?” These questions have made us investigate our own behaviour, by looking at what is in our lunch boxes and what we are throwing out in the rubbish bins at school. This led us to ask the question:

Why do we bring reusable bottles to school?”.  A copy of the documented conversation is up in the neighbourhood.

In maths, the children have been looking at skip counting in 2s, 3s, 5s, and 10s from a variety of starting points.

In literacy, we have been studying Indigenous texts, focusing on Dreamtime stories.

This week has being our first week of swimming! The children have literally being jumping for joy participating in this activity.

Enjoy the photos.
