Each week this term students in the 3/4 neighborhood have been exploring building through a weekly STEM challenge. STEM incorporates science, technology, engineering and mathematics and allows students to explore these ideas through problem solving and working together.
This week the challenge was to build a tower with only paper that would hold as many books as possible.
Our challenge winners were Eva and Flo who built their creation by rolling their paper. Through their STEM solution they were able to hold 114 books from around our neighbourhood.
They started working with the materials and adjusted their design multiple times before they found success. A great example of the design process, problem solving skills and collaboration!
