Week 4/5 – Ticking along

It’s been a full on two weeks of NAPLAN, but finally coming to an end. We are very proud of all our students and their efforts during this time. We had special DET visitors during that time that were impressed with how settled and focused our Year 5s were. Year 6s used the time to deepen their understanding of the political structures of a country by designing one of their own. We continued to look and think about Democracy and had lots to talk about after the weekend.

We have started to put legs on our action plans to enact change within our local community. It is really inspiring to see students thinking about the ethical and social needs of marginalised individuals and consider ways they can be a part of the solution.

We are sad to be saying goodbye to Clare as a 5/6 Homegroup teacher. She has brought great ideas and insights to the team and school, we wish her all the best.

Kathryne will be starting with us next week taking over from Clare. If you’re able to pop past throughout the week to make her feel welcome and a part of our community.

Electives

We are now on to our second week of electives, we’re seeing students getting further along with projects and developing skills in dance, sculpture/construction, coding, drumming, and drawing.

Interschool Sport

We’re starting to get into a rhythm and turn up the heat with Interschool Sport.  A massive thanks to the parents that have lended a hand so far to the running of the sessions. If you’re free and interested in helping out on Thursday afternoons let us know!
