What a busy few weeks it has been in the 5/6 Neighbourhood. Read about what we’ve been doing!
Interschool Sport
Inter School Sport started this week, with students playing the winter sports of Tee Ball, Soccer, Basketball, AFL, and Netball. It was a good chance to meet up with other local schools and participate in healthy lifestyle choices that develop teamwork skills.
We have also started new electives of Dance, Sculpture, Cartoon Art, Coding, and Music to extend possibilities for the students. These electives allow for more student agency and engagement in interests in a way that can support new expressions.
In our inquiry we have started to look at how we can take action within the school and local community as a way of understanding how our democratic system works, With the current election looming there have been many opportunities for consideration and its be great to discuss these further with the students.
Students have been engaging with a multitude of maths investigations, including fractions, decimals and percentages. Below is a sample of the tasks we been working on:
Look out for more great things coming from the 5/6 Neighbourhood!
