Father’s day’s coming, but we’re not prepared.
We have no donations – we’re getting quite scared.
The kids have neglected their duty this year,
To bring in a present that’s thoughtful and sincere.
Without these donations there can be no stall,
So bring something in – anything at all.
Imagine the faces of fathers who learn
They won’t get a gift – no slippers, no fern.
There will be no novelty footy themed mugs,
Or homemade gift vouchers – ‘good for ten free hugs’
No t-shirts proclaiming ‘Worlds Greatest Dad’
I can’t bear the thought – it’s making me sad!
Gift or no gift, dads still know you care,
But fathers like gifts – not to give one’s unfair.
In any event, they won’t be happy campers,
Based on the state of our poor empty hampers.
The situation is dire – pick up the pace!
Drop off a gift – maybe two, just in case!
