Science Workshop – Balloon Hovercraft
Today in the Year 2 Neighbourhood students repurposed a CD and a bottle top in the name of science. After predicting what they might be using the CD and the bottle top for, the students were informed that they would each be building a hovercraft. After going through the steps and watching a short explanatory video the students set about making. After a process of trial and error the students began to have success. Part of this was identifying the elements that were needed for the hovercraft to work. These included the size of the holes that the air passed through and making sure they had a strong seal around the bottle top.
The students showed great perseverance and all thoroughly enjoyed the satisfaction of a successful experiment.
