Exploring our environments

As part of our inquiry, Tomo took the prep students on a tour of the school to explore our different environments. The children observed the things that make each space unique and discussed how different experiences are suited to different spaces. Tomo took photographs of the preps  in the different environments. These will to prompt the children to create sentences about the spaces which would eventually annotate books for the neighbourhood.

Maddy worked with each home group to create a simple repetitive text about what we do in certain environments around our school.

During the following writing session, the children viewed their photos and we annotated them using the same repetitive pattern.
