This afternoon, all 3/4 students were engaged in creating 2D shapes and 3D solids, by using a variety of mathematics, construction and craft materials.
The mathematical understandings we are investigating are:
Describing and drawing two-dimensional shapes
Describing the features of three-dimensional objects
- Making models of three-dimensional objects
- Comparing and describing two dimensional shapes that result from combining and splitting common shapes
- Connecting three-dimensional objects with their nets and other two-dimensional representations (some students were making their own nets!)
