The Preps have been learning about author/illustrators, as these people have something in common with the Preps!
They have both have written story books that include their own illustrations.
Following our visit from Postman Chris, the Preps were inspired to write stories about his adventures throughout the day. They began by planning their story using a story board, read their story to an adult who transcribed their text, then transferring their story into their book – referring to their plan when illustrating.
The students have been using their knowledge of the features of story books – including details such as colourful illustrations, front cover, title, author/illustrator name and page numbers.
Our Prep students have been working hard to finish this process and are so excited when they have officially finished publishing their story and adding it to the book display with the other stories.
