This morning we had 5 firemen from Carlton Fire Station visit the Prep Neighbourhood.
We learnt about:
- The difference between a safe fire and unsafe fire
- How smoke alarms sound and why they start beeping
- If there is a fire at home and the smoke detector starts beeping, remember to ‘CRAWL DOWN LOW AND GO GO GO!’
- Safe meeting places
- All the different pieces of clothing that firemen put on before they go to fight fires. It can make the firemen look and sound a little scary! But we know who is inside and they are there to help us.
Before they arrived, the Preps wrote questions that they wanted to ask them. Some Preps asked questions to the firemen. We will be posting them a letter which includes the rest of the questions.
The firemen will be visiting us again next week!
