We have all made a great start to Term 2 and have been extremely productive and engaged in exploring various geometry and statistics mathematical learning. All students used many different forms of expression to investigate the properties of 2D shapes and 3D solids.
We began to wonder where in our community would we observe a range of 2D shapes and 3D solids. We worked together to map out a walking route around Princes Hill to collect shape and solid data. We had lots of fun walking around and exploring our community in the hunt for shapes and solids! We discovered new geometric solids that we thought weren’t possible to find outside of our neighborhoods. Once we collected our data, we proceeded to present what we found out in the forms of line, bar, column graphs and pie charts.
