Numeracy
In numeracy this week, we continued our exploration of analogue, 12 hour and 24 hour time as well as tackling some problems based on elapsed time. Students worked in groups as they developed strategies to work out when a series of events started, how long the series of events took, or when the series of events ended, when they were given two of these variables. Some of our braver students also worked on a couple of “juicy” problems where further variables such as distance and speed were included. It was wonderful to observe such perseverance and determination in our students. Here are the problems they were presented with. A couple of groups even made it to problem number 10, which involved them creating their own elapsed time problems.
