Learning by doing is a huge part of our learning here at Princes Hill. This term the year 3/4’s are working together with their project action groups. The purpose for these groups is to create change around the school, as well as to investigate global issues that are impacted by our actions. One group, for example is working to reduce the lost property here at PHPS and is currently exploring the challenging in global clothing waste, fast fashion and the environmental impact of some fabrics through studying their production cycle.
By moving from the every day to the scientific, our students are developing their research skills, deepening their understanding of global production systems, investigating measurement and then developing well researched and debated arguments for how our community can be improved.
We have 11 project action groups who are exploring resources and production, impacts of stress, the value of friendship and community, air quality and access to technology for learning.
We are looking forward to deepening our understandings throughout the term and will be sharing our learning in late November!
