Last Friday, the year 5/6 students embraced their inner child and went all out for Book Week! The parade was a huge hit and students were able to showcase their creativity with their costumes.
With the busy-ness of life, students were provided opportunities in projects and provocations to create a costume – so everyone was able to participate in the parade.
Even Heidi our amazing therapy dog made an appearance as Toto!
During the week, whilst the year 6’s were at camp, the rest of the neighbourhood delved into book week and were encouraged to engage in book provocations such as book making, readers theatre and creating a book quiz.
We also investigated our love of reading and the developed a ‘book history for ourselves’, which we shared with the year 1 neighbourhood. Students thought about all of the books that had made an impact on them and shared a book they loved with a year 1 buddy.
