Tai began the second session by asking the children to revisit the four scenes that they drew last week. The children were asked to choose two sketches that they would like to take to a completion stage. Children were asked to choose one image for this session.
Tai then demonstrated how to apply washes. The first wash was applied as a background to the first illustration on watercolour paper.
Tai explained and demonstrated the next stage to creating an illustration. The images and characters in the foreground of each illustration will be created by cutting out coloured paper that the children were going to make.
The children needed to think carefully about their illustrations and create markings and paint colours on their second sheet of watercolour paper that would be useful in their illustrations.
