Welcome to week 2!
As well as a number of ideas being explored this week from week 1 we have a couple of new ‘big ideas’ to explore this week.
Vowels and Consonants: Sounds and letters can often be confusing in English, creating tension when we want to spell brand new words. This week we are building a bank of different words that explore patterns in our language by looking at CVC words, such as dog, and CVCC words, such as both. By having a strong understanding of the ways letters come together to create different sounds our students will be able to recognize patterns and tackle unknown words with confidence.
Treaty: In today’s Australian landscape Treaty plays a critical role. This week we are looking at this in relation to our inquiry into Change. We are exploring the language associated with this big idea and how it impacts us. More information at: https://deadlyquestions.vic.gov.au/
