Week 8 Learning Focus

Welcome back, hope everyone had a restful and fun long weekend.

Here’s what’s happening in the neighbourhoods this week:

Project Groups – our groups continue this week and begin to map out their plans for changes in the school. Groups are collecting data, interviewing other students and developing project plans.

Capabilities Backpack – This week, in preparation for camp, students are invited to develop roll plays that tell the story of a capability used at camp. We have been exploring these capabilities over the last week weeks and this gives students the opportunity to see them in action.

Letter to your camp self – Everyone has moments at camp where they need some encouragement! These letters will be there to help and students will be able to share some words of  support to their future selves.

First Footprints Artworks – After our inquiry into Australia’s first people’s, students are invited to develop artwork that reflect their learning on reconciliation as a process of change.

Math Investigation – This week we’re looking at number tiles and Fay’s 9s puzzles. Can you solve it? Students are using their adding and renaming skills to solve and explain their thinking!

Reading Responses – We will continue to work on our responses this week. The key focus is now looking for examples and evidence right from the text to support our opinions and understandings.

Spelling Investigation – Homophones! The tricky words that are spelled differently but sound the same!

Student Led Conferencing Preparation – Preparations and reflections continue. Students are working towards polishing and practicing their presentations.

Have a great week!
