Year 2 Assembly

The Future. What do we want our world to look like? What does it mean to have a liveable city and a sustainable future? These are some of the questions the Year 2 neighbourhood have been exploring this term. At our Year 2 Assembly this afternoon, students shared their visions for the future, both as short written statements and through poetry.

We also shared a number of animations that students had made in small groups as a way to share their vision of what we want our future to look like. Art has long been a powerful way of presenting ideas. First we thought about the features of a liveable city. We then sketched these and added details using water colours. These images were cut out, photographed and used to create our collaborative animations.

Students then shared ‘Heal the World’, a Michael Jackson song that we have been practising with Deb. Below are some photos from the afternoon.
