Welcome to term 3!
Hope everyone had a fun and restful holiday. We are all very excited to get back into our inquiry and to begin exploring all the new projects taking place this term.
Artist in residence: Giant Grass Design
This week our Artist in Residence will be introduced. This project will be led by Hannah and will have students across the school designing and be creating artwork and place spaces for our outside area. The 3/4 Students will be able to draw in their knowledge of design and building process explored during term 2 for this project. Book Clubs Continued
This week we will continue to work in our book club groups as we delve deeper into our chosen classics. The students will explore their understanding of plot, character development and writing techniques.
Inquiry Project Groups
Week one also brings an introduction into our project groups for this term; each group will be working with one teacher to deeply investigate a group in our local community. Over the course of the term will research the group, meet with members and visit their meeting spaces to gain an understanding of how these groups shape the identity of the people who are a part of them.
How does our garden grow?
This term everyone in the 3/4 neighbourhood will be participating in a fractions investigation which will have us outside and working on growing the school veggie patch. Through this project, we will explore fractions, measurement, angles and area, building and developing our mathematical understandings. This week we will explore seeds and begin planning our planting.
Notes and Notices
- Jarred is on leave for week 1 and week 2 of this term as he is off getting married! Mike Coyle will be in 3/4 while he is away.
- For those taking place in the intensive swimming program, all notices and forms need to be back to home group teachers as soon as possible. Swimming will take place in week 2 and week 3.
