Last week, on Tuesday and Friday, the Year 2 students joined forces with the 3/4 students for the day to travel around to different continents of our world. Over the two days, students attended four different experiences – focusing on Africa, Asia, Europe, and Australia. It was a great opportunity for the Year 2 students to see what the 3/4 Neighbourhood spaces were like, meet other students, and learn more about each continent. Students read and responded to legends and traditional stories by creating watercolour paintings, patterned artwork, and making finger puppets, looked at how art is used in Indigenous cultures to tell stories, explored map making, origami, and calligraphy writing, and researched on the internet to design their own European holiday.
