Over the next few weeks, students in the year 2 neighbourhood will be embarking on a big woodworking project – making looms! Students will be transported back to a time when the making of quilts, blankets and tapestries would have to be done by hand using a homemade loom. Students will be using wood, saws, nails and screws and be constructing their loom and then creating their own personal tapestries.
We are putting a big call out for parents to come and help us build these looms. Some wonderful parents have donated the wood to the neighbourhood and we have gone out a sourced the other remaining materials.
