Inquiry This week we have introduced a range of new provocations that carry on with our exploration into change; Redo your self-portrait (how have you changed since your self-portrait from the start of the year?); Use the Timeline to map out all the learning Year 1 have done over the year. Write a story about Life in Year 1. Build a plant system and label each part of the system.
Literacy Over the last few week the children have been exploring their critical thinking through a range of activities that require them to consider their opinions about a particular topic and develop arguments either for or against an issue. Recently we read the children’s story-book “Would You Rather…”, which presents the reader with a series of choices. The children were extremely engaged by the book, so we are using the premise of this book to continue our investigation into persuasive texts in order to developing critical thinking.
Numeracy The children will finish off their data collection and graphing port-folio piece as well as continue to work on money – specifically, how many ways to make a dollar!
FYI, tomorrow is our final coach approach! So please ensure children wear appropriate clothing and footwear. We have collected most of the hats. For the children who wanted to take hats home, please ensure they are in their bags in the morning.
We will see you all outside the Year 2 neighbourhood at 8.50 tomorrow morning!
