Moana Viewing

Over the past few weeks the year 2’s have been investigating stories connected with different cultures.  We have listened to the story of Lord Rama rescuing his wife Sita from the Demon King Ravana, which is how the celebration of Diwali came to be. We read ‘The Land of the Dragon King’, which is a Korean tale of why the sea is salty.  We also have been looking at dreamtime stories about how different native Australian came to be.

This week, we are going to watch the movie ‘Moana’.  The film tells the story of Moana, the strong-willed daughter of the chief of a Polynesian tribe, who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with a goddess.

As the movie is PG, the students will bring home a permission note today that parents will need to sign in order for them to watch the movie.  If parents could sign and return the note ASAP, that would be wonderful.

We have attached the permission note, just incase it gets lost along the way!
