Literacy
This week’s focus will be on writing recounts of our trip to Como House. We will explore how we explain what has happened using chronological order and sequence all of the great things we did on the excursion. Children will use paragraphs to break up their recounts and keep an eye out on the blog for some of their writing.
Numeracy
We will be building our own letterboxes. In order to do this we will be looking at the different sizes of envelopes and finding the area of different shapes. We will also be exploring how area is calculated and will be designing using squares to measure.
Provocations
We continue to look to the future using what we learnt from our trip to the past at Como House to help us make decisions about the future.
Fashion Design.
We will explore what fashion of the future will look like using some wearable technologies such as conductive thread to help our clothes light up. Children will explore different materials and their properties to choose the most appropriate material.
School of the future
After thinking about what our lives will be like in the future we are now turning our minds to what school might be like. We wonder if we will have robots as teachers in times to come. Children will design and create a classroom of the future to show what changes they think will happen.
