On Thursday, out local postie, Chris, visited our neighbourhood to present to us about the postal system and share with us about his job as a postie. Chris showed us how the letters are sorted so that it is easier to deliver. Children had many questions to Chris including “how do you become a postie?” and “what happens if you don’t write the correct address or attach a stamp to a letter?” We learned that there is a place called a ‘Dead Letter Office’ where all the lost letters go.
We will be continuing to explore the idea of communicating to others in our community through our postal service.
