Collections
This week we are starting to explore the value to collections. What do they teach us about who we are and the items we chose to collect? We’ll be exploring how collections come together to tell a story and share collections that mean something to us or the people around us.
Spelling Investigation
Etymology is a fascinating part of language and this week we’ll be exploring where words came from through our spelling investigation. Students can share words they love, looking at patterns, root meanings and ever-changing word meanings.
Maths Investigation
This week our maths investigation explores number, looking at hands-on problem-solving kits as students work together to justify solutions and explain their mathematical thinking. We’re also developing strategies for tracking learning and practising sharing our understandings with others.
Graphing and the PHPS census
This week we are finalising our PHPS census, what are the ways we can develop questions that teach us about our community? Students are then finalising their graphs as a way to share the information they have collected in order to create positive change in our community.
