NGV Excursion

img_2989Monday and Tuesday last week was our excursion to the NGV at Ian Potter. We enjoyed a guided tour that helped us understand some history specific to Victoria, Melbourne, and encompassing the Kulin Nation. It was a great opportunity to develop our visual literacy and to think about how things have changed over time. We also got access to the John Olsen exhibition where we observed his connection to the written word. His journals helped us consider our use of the writer’s notebook and acted as a great example for how to express and record our ideas in a number of ways.

The tram ride was a fun challenge as always, a good chance to build independence, develop an appreciation for sustainable travel, and heighten awareness of appropriate social behaviours. One group also had a unique experience of making it to the big screen in Federation Square. All in all, a great experience. A massive thanks to Emma, Darren, Kirilee, Caroline, Edward, Fiona, Rowena, and Chandrima, the parent helpers on the days, your time and effort were much appreciated.
