Our Mothers and Special Carers
Our mothers and special carers are extremely important members of our extended community. (E) They consistently (Undram) encourage and support us. They look after our wellbeing by not only supporting us (Leah) at home, but by doing all those important things. These include giving us more information about topics we are researching (Evie H), helping us when we were in remote learning (Ivy Belle), teach us more advanced stuff/content such as multiplication (Alex C).
Some of our special memories are:
When we first arrived in Australia from Korea my mum taught me about the English alphabet and language. She also taught me other languages like Japanese, French, Russian and Chinese. (Jamie)
When we went to Ivanhoe East because my Grandparents made a house, my Mum started teaching me how to knit (Leah).
When I was younger and when I went to kindergarten only some days of the week, my Mum would always take me to Barkly Square and she would always get me this special meal that I liked. It was just me and her. (Ayshe).
My Mum and I walk together at Princes Park. We go to the dog park and we talk (Jack B).
Me and my Mum cook dinner together once a week (Olive).
On the holidays, me and my Mum went to South Melbourne Market together and after that we went on a ‘girl day’. We went to this place, got a humongous plate of chips. It was just us two (Ivy Belle).
This one Christmas, me and my Mum went to The Strand at Queensland and went to the Pancake Palace and got the biggest milkshake ever. (Jack B).
We love spending time with our Mums and special carers. It’s really special when we get time to ourselves because it’s just you and your Mum and you’re having a nice time. It’s nice because you and your Mum or special carer can have time to yourself and talk about what you would like to. It creates a peaceful mood.
Happy Mothers and Special Carers Day!
