End of term agility and flexibility!
After completing and celebrating our running/Cross Country focus, students later reflected and discussed what skills and goals they were proud of achieving so far this year in Health & PE. It was also a chance for everyone to reset and think about setting new goals moving forward into Term 2. Two particular components students voiced they wanted to explore and/or consolidate were their agility and flexibility capabilities. Therefore, over the last two weeks of the school term, we engaged in a number of different exciting games that incorporated both agility and flexibility skill-sets.
Some of the more popular games the students enjoyed in the junior school were Octopus, Poison Ball, Zim-Zam-Zoom, Last One Standing, The Ground Is Lava and the favourite, of course, Wood Knock.
And as for the senior school, the games included Dodgeball, Wood Knock, Capture the Flag, Kick Ball and Golden Globe.
One of the exciting events we can look forward to next term include our annual school-wide Walkathon where we raise funds for the school. Other events include the senior school’s Interschool Sports and District Cross Country. The junior school can look forward to continuing their development in fun games but also engaging with specific sporting codes such as Aussie Rules, Soccer, Netball and Basketball.
To finish with, we’d like to highlight another amazing tennis effort in Aurelie Kostova (Year 6)! In 2021, Aurelie made it all the way to the state competition with the SSV Tennis. This year, she has repeated the same effort again, but has the opportunity to win at state level! Here below is a photo of her winning the recent Regional Tennis competition alongside the runner up. We all wish her the very best and hope she goes one better this year! Good luck!
