Our Place in the World

We are exploring Our Place in the World through our cultural, social and family connections.

We have been investigating our sense of belonging by asking the question, Which communities do you feel connected to?

We started by researching and inquiring into Lunar New Year as these celebrations were currently taking place. Students were keen to find out about Lunar New Year and this prompted many of the children to start thinking and researching their own celebrations and special events.

Students are currently writing and reflecting about their own celebrations, researching why these celebrations take place and learning about their significance.

Further to our neighbourhood looking at Culture and Celebrations we also invited students to interview another student in our neighbourhood and find out more about their background, culture and interests.
