Visual Art and Artist Residency
The last few weeks have seen the Visual Art studio transformed into a wonderful printmaking studio. Every student has used their own block and design to create a wonderful hand block printed piece of fabric. Students have worked through the process and have gained an understanding of how fabrics are designed and printed.
This marks the culmination of the Artist Residency with Sarah Rowe, where we have examined the process of designing, collaging and printed a beautiful length of fabric that holds the stories of every student.
The Artist Residency has produced an amazing length of fabric, printed from the collaborative collage work, and will be sent home for further embellishment by families. Next term a kit comprising of the fabric, needles and embroidery thread will be sent home for families to further contribute to. The idea is for every member of the community to have the opportunity to become part of the project and add their story or mark onto the fabric length.
Look out for the kit when is is brought home to you over the next few months! We welcome input from all family members!
