Term 3 Week 10 – Our Production companies at work!
Over the past few weeks Team Toys, Paw Armadillos and the Pickle Family production companies have been super productive. Production meetings have been held weekly, where ideas have been decided on and questions raised. In provocations we have then developed these questions and ideas further. A big success in our meetings was the creation of a collaborative story map which expanded ideas about beginning, middle and end as well as the problem and solution and also how each character journeys through a variety of settings throughout the story. The production groups will continue to perfect their scripts in early Term 4 and then begin film production.
To conclude our term of amazing storytelling we took an excursion to the Melbourne Arts Centre to see Waru; the journey of a small turtle. Under the stars of the Torres Strait Migi the turtle navigates her way back to the beach where she was born. With the help of Aka Malu she overcomes lizard attacks, wild weather and exhaustion to lay her eggs safely. It was a wonderful experience to share and observe a professional production that focused on the many different aspects of storytelling that we are developing in Neighbourhood 2.
