Inquiry: Our Systems, Our World, Ourselves
Big ideas:
A system set of parts working together or interconnected to form a complex whole
Organisation and classification helps us understand the world
Our understandings influence our decisions
3/4N2 is like a powerful locomotive hurtling towards its destination, with intention and great focus. It is full steam ahead.
If you were fortunate enough to glimpse into our neighbourhood spaces you would see a hive of activity. Here is a brief summary:
Milo – I am creating a model of a Red-tailed Black Cockatoo. I am currently creating the wings using cardboard, tissue paper and paint.
Theo – I am drawing a Red bellied black snake. I am figuring out what position the snake should be in, where it should be and what it should be doing in the diagram.
Elena – For the expo I am creating a poster on indigenous species with my inquiry group group. Leo, Sylvia and I are researching microbats. We are still deciding which species to focus on.
Eddie – For the expo I am right now making a skeleton of a tiger snake, then I am going to use black and yellow paper and wrap around it.
Nina – For the expo my project group is making a recipe using indigenous plants. We’re focusing on the Bush mint and the River mint
Juanita – I am creating a nesting box with Max and right now I am working on making the bird for it and Max is working on the nest around it and we are focusing on the sulphur crested cockatoo.
Isaac – For the expo I am publishing my narrative and making my own recipe with the Healthy Mints which is our task force group. Using indigenous ingredients like the River Mint and Bush Mint.
Lulu – I’m making a model of Pixie’s parasol which is an indigenous species of fungi. I’m still layering on the paint and I’m trying to make it look very realistic. I’m trying to capture the wet texture on the fungi.
