Trying a new sport!

October 9, 2023 by specialistteam

That unfamiliar ball is called a ‘rugby union’ ball.  The students in Year 4/5 are learning skills and developing their understanding for their PE unit of Rippa Rugby.  Rippa Rugby is a non-contact version of rugby union, and the students had their first go at handling the ball, carrying it, moving with it, and passing in both directions this week.  It was amazing to see the students persevere and really throw themselves into this new sport!  They will continue to experience drills for running, passing, and tagging in order to belt up and have a go at playing Rippa Rugby during their PE sessions this term.
