La mia storia….la mia cultura

Ciao a tutti! We have been building the story of our families, learning to name the members, describe them, talk about special dishes made for us or with us to share….This week in Italian we have been exploring and sharing aspects of our cultura. We have learnt to name elements of our family’s heritage and culture in Italian: la mappa (map), la bandiera (flag), il cibo (food), i costumi (costumes), la lingua (language), le feste (festivals/celebrations). Students have eagerly and proudly shared elements of their cultural identities, drawing and labelling flags, maps, costumes. We have shared anecdotes about our families’ journeys from other parts of the globe, bringing their customs, foods, languages and traditions and have observed how these have had a lasting impact on us and our world.
