Colour and Still life
Building on our experiences of working with complementary colours and examining the colour palette of David Hockney, last week we further developed the ideas behind our knowledge of the colour wheel.
During on-line learning, we explored David Hockney’s interpretation of chairs. Back at school, we further explored the everyday, through a selection of still life objects. Through these we extended our investigation of the potential of colour to bring a new perspective, and ways of seeing, simple objects.
Students focussed on shape and line in their initial line drawings and then used their understandings of colour and their unique perspectives to their still life work.
