Viva Kahoot!
This year the year threes have been introduced to the excitement and fun of Kahoot online quizzes! Students play in teams, collaborate with and support one another as they answer questions related to their learning. They discuss the various options for each question, giving them the opportunity to read and speak Italian! Students choose their team name, which is related to the Italian inquiry, for example an adjective, a food, a feeling. They also work with the teacher to create questions for the quiz…an authentic opportunity to demonstrate and share learning. The students are really excited to see their team names on the big screen!
Here are some of the reflections of the students about their Kahoot experiences this term:
Evie H: “ I think Kahoot is fun whilst challenging and it’s also good for our learning because we learn new Italian things.”
Ivy: “I like Kahoot because it’s fun and you learn a lot from it, like you can change it to different languages and if it’s in Italian there are Italian questions and you learn a lot from the different questions.”
Camilla: “ What I like about Kahoot is that it’s challenging and also it teaches you a lot of stuff. And it also teaches you Italian things and you have to pick the right answers. It’s also teaching you…if you go to Italy it teaches you what to say there.”
Seb C: “ I like Kahoot because it’s fun and you get to play with your friends.”
Nina: “ I like Kahoot because it’s challenging.”
Edie: “ I like it because you can do it in any language and it’s good for people to learn things from it.”
Eve: “ I think it’s really fun because you learn new things about Italian words and if you get it wrong, the next time if you do the same quiz again you can get it correct.”
