They will step out onto the stage of the Melbourne Town Hall with 150 choristers from different learning communities. We will be united as one voice, and advocate for sustainability in this year’s La Boite performance of Los Ninos. It’s been a tremendous opportunity for growth and learning, and our choir was bristling with excitement to sing some of tonight’s program for our school community yesterday. Please read on…

Based at the Abbotsford Convent, La Boit is an iconic multicultural music organisation which promotes performance opportunities to celebrate the richness of cultural diversity. The Boit Schools Chorus offers an enriching music experience for children which builds resilience, and a broader understanding how music can promote social and cultural awareness. Our students’ understandings of the urgency of climate change have grown beyond what they have learnt through school Inquiry project’s and our Sustainability Program. Whilst the Los Ninos collection of songs celebrates the beauty and preciousness of our natural world, they express deep concerns for it’s fragility due to the impact of human activity. The message is simple and powerful; small actions of sustainable practices have a significant impact when done collectively.
