Book Week was a roaring success this year with so many of our outstanding students dressing up and looking amazing! A big thank you to all parents, students and teachers who put in a massive effort into their costumes, activities and enthusiasm for all things reading!
BOOK WEEK PARADE
We started the morning off with our awesome Book Week Parade. It was fantastic to see so many different and unique costumes. A big thank you to all the parents who stayed to watch the parade.
REAL PIGEON INCURSION
As a follow on from book week Real Pigeons creators Andrew McDonald (author) and Ben Wood (illustrator) visited the school recently for an author/illustrator presentation on their series of children’s books Real Pigeons.
Book week and the incursion has tied in beautifully with our ongoing inquiry into libraries. The children have enjoyed drawing and writing imaginative stories about princesses, dragons and animals found in jungles. They have been using descriptive language to develop their characters and utilising creative openers to draw the reader in to build engaging storylines.
