The children have begun to notice traces of past inquiries left by previous preps and have begun to ask the question ‘what can we leave behind?’ We’ve reflected on our learning over the course of the year and the children were able to identify and discuss that our inquiry has been on the concept of collaboration. This led to a discussion on how we could share our learning with the community.
We could draw dinosaurs together? Riley
We could draw different parts of dinosaurs together Josh
Dinosaur bones and drawing. I don’t know how to share it Oona
Each prep should make one dinosaur! Ursula
Before we make them we need to count the preps! Julian
As educators we were able to identify the theme and in collaboration with the children we discussed the idea of creating a neighbourhood mural. The children were eager to share their ideas on how we can use dinosaurs to represent each member of our neighbourhood. We discussed how it was important to use collaboration to create a background for the dinosaurs to inhabit.
We can collaborate on a background together – Miles
We can use tally marks to count the dinosaurs – Kimi
The children are excited and engaged to continue deepening their understanding of collaboration through this on-going project.
We look forward to working alongside the children in this project.
