As the term draws to a close, the preps have been focused on bringing together all their skills and understandings. We’re all very excited to bring our ideas about collaboration, creativity and dinosaurs to the next level.
Although the term is ending, we haven’t slowed down! Last week, many students had the opportunity to dip their toes in the water at the Carlton Baths for swimming lessons, and we enjoyed spending time mapping the playground with our year 5 buddies.
To support the students’ handwriting and number knowledge, we’ve been working on number formation using play-dough and drawing materials to make sure the tricky 3s and 5s are all written the right way around!
Likewise, we’ve been continuing to practise letters through writing workshops as well as developing comprehension strategies through the use of big books and picture books. The children have become experts at finding connections between their own lives, the information in the books, and our ongoing inquiry.
We wish you all a fantastic break and look forward to continuing the learning journey next term.
