This week in the Prep Neighborhood we are continuing to learn all the new routines there are at school. We are also focussing on collaboration, sustained effort and giving new things a go.
In reading we are focussing on sharing stories as a group and drawing a response to the story. We are even having a go at writing the title of the book by ourselves!
In writing we are continuing to focus on our pencil grip and how to form our letters correctly. We have been working on our downstroke pattern, wave pattern and bunny hops.
In maths we are continuing our investigation into friends of 10, along with how we write numbers, making numbers using concrete materials and challenging ourselves with counting.
Circle time is a time where students can share about their day, what they have liked and what they have disliked. It is helping the students build their ability to listen to each other, take turns and build relationships with each other.
Inquiry –
Over the last two weeks our inquiry has really taken off! We are focussing on collaboration, observation and questioning. We will continue to investigate these skills and build these with the children.
